    Serenity - Peace - Tranquility

    Tranquility of nature is good for the wellbeing of your mind ...
    Allowing yourself to listen the sounds and silence of nature you can increase the positive effects of nature on you.
    People often say that it is silent (we mean totally silent) in nature. If you really are in nature there aren`t many sounds. However seldom there is a total silence in nature;

 AND ALREADY IT IS SEPTEMBER ~

Time is truly flying and here we are in September. September always reminds me of my high school senior song - "Try to remember the kind of September when life was slow and oh so mellow . . . Try to remember and if you remember, then follow." Lots of memories (but that is another song).

FlowerOur Orange Acres activities are still in "summer mode" but we have added Bingo every Wednesday evening and exercise is back every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:00 a.m. Our other activities include "fun" billiards on Mondays at 1:00 p.m. followed by Sequence on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m., Coffee meetings with donuts every Tuesday at 7:30 a.m., Bridge on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. and Mixed Cards on Thursdays at 1:00 p.m. We are looking forward to a few of the early snowbirds who return in September.

Every first Monday of September is Labor Day in the United States. The first Labor Day was held in 1882. Its origins stem from the desire of the Central Labor Union to create a holiday for workers. It became a Federal holiday in 1894. It was originally intended that the day would be filled with a street parade to allow the public to appreciate the work of the trade and labor organizations. After the parade, a festival was to be held to amuse local workers and their families. We still celebrate Labor Day with picnics and family gatherings. One of the reasons for choosing to celebrate Labor Day on the first Monday in September, and not on May 1 which is common in the rest of the world, was to add a holiday in the long gap between Independence Day and Thanksgiving.

Enjoy the month of September ~ Do what you LOVE and LOVE what you do ~
